I love Freddy period. Although as the series continued it got corny. Im still a fan though. Its a horror but can be so funny at the same time. Do you guys like it?

I dunno, it's pretty cheesy like you said. If it didn't have so much gore, it would be perfect for an afternoon movie on five.
Got johnny depp started in movies, so that's good.

I've never seen it but would like to. Has anyone watched Freddy vs Jason? I nearly bought that once and am wondering if it's any good...

Freedy vs Jason is good but if your wanting to start watchin the Nightmare on Elm Street, I would suggest just watchin the first. The other really get out of hand and the plots are horrible...

Freddy vs. Jason was a very good movie and had a great storyline and plot to it. Although some of the parts were off from the real thing, it still showed good entertainment. They are currently talking about doing the sequel to Freddy vs. Jason, but they aren't sure just yet. They want to throw in the 3rd person, but not sure who to choose. As for getting your start on Freddy Krueger or Jason Voorhees, it would be smart to watch the respected series by themselves. You will like Freddy vs. Jason a lot more after you do that. They are also coming out with the prequel to A Nightmare On Elm Street. Which tells the story of Freddy and how he started out. Finally, they are releasing the 11th installment to the Friday The 13th series.

Prequel... They are already like 6-9 Nightmare on Elm Street movies. We all know how he started out. He was a human who killed lil kids. then the parents of the town came and killed him in the factory where he did all his murders. It explains that through the series. ;D

I know that it explains that, but this is for you to see Freddy without the burned face and the demon mind. I know that Robert Englund really wanted it to be like this on account of the fact that he likes for people to see him in movies as himself and not Freddy all of the time. Although he loves being known as Freddy, he likes being known as Robert also.

Ahh... I see, well if most of the movie is based on how he became Freddy that would be quiet boring. Freedy Krueger himself. The cold hearted killer has to be in it as the main character. Not the regular human krueger. Thats just boring.

It does seem to be a little boring, but I think some people will enjoy it. Especially if you like Freddy Krueger anyway.

I think that sounds interesting, but isn't the whole franchise famed for it's campy, silly horror value? If you had just a regular guy, a lot of that would probably be lost.

Yes, I know, thats the same thing I was think, but its their decision and Im surea few TRUE freddy fans will still go see it. It just wont be as big of a hit in my opinion.

I think that you might still see the more horror Freddy value to the movie, I am not so sure that it is just regular Freddy the whole time. I haven't been able to get my hands on the script just yet. But it could ruin the whole franchise that Robert Englund has created. That could totally put pressure on doing that. I was also given word that NBC or ABC will release the show with Freddy Krueger in it. This show is about facing your fears and doing it through a dream. They setup the scenario and you have to deal with it, but the only problem is... that Freddy is there.

Freddy is cool but i prefer Jason...
Anyway, i only like the 1st and 3rd Nightmares on Elm Street, Freddy has an awesome sense of humor i like his one liners lol
And as for Freddy vs. Jason 2, there are rumors going aroud that they are going to introduce Ash from the Evil Dead series to it, which would be awesome as hell.

A Nightmare on Elm Street was a ground breaking movie. Plot wise it was a new refreshing way to make horror films. The moment everyone involved started losing the plot was when they began merchandising t-shirts to 10 year olds. From that moment Freddy became some kind of cult figure rather than a breath of fresh air for the horror genre.
